The ocean, creativity and connection have always been the threads that run through my life.
I love the ocean, creating art, reading a good book and practising yoga. I have always been curious about the deeper, more reflective pathways of life. Over time I began to realise that creativity, the body and awareness all come from the same place, a space where we slow down enough to listen.
The ocean has always been where I feel a strong sense of connection, and it continues to inspire my artwork. I create textured seascapes using sand, acrylic and fibreglass, building layers that echo the depth and movement of the sea. I also work with resin, which brings a completely different quality. It is smooth, glossy and fluid, capturing the reflective, luminous surface of water. Each medium explores different aspects of the ocean, yet both aim to evoke a quiet sense of connection.

Yoga is a personal journey. Your mat is your island, a place to breathe, connect and simply be.
I tried yoga many times over the years. Sometimes I left feeling disheartened, thinking I wasn’t flexible enough. Other times I pushed too hard and injured myself. Often it felt like a good workout, but something deeper seemed to be missing. My mind wandered and I never really stayed with it.
But a seed had been planted. It simply took time for me to learn how to nurture it.
Through my love of reading, I began exploring the roots of yoga and slowly realised that it is not about forcing your body into the perfect pose. Yoga is about developing respect for your body, understanding it, being present within it and nourishing it.
In many ways this feels similar to the creative process. When we create, we listen, observe and allow something to unfold without forcing it.
Yoga is an individual journey. Your mat can become a place to breathe, to exist fully in your own body and to find space to reconnect with yourself and let go. When I found that moment on my island, my yoga journey truly began.
Just as we can walk through the woods without noticing the beauty and magic around us, we can also move through our lives without recognising the beauty and magic that exists within us.
Through both yoga and creativity, I invite moments of slowing down, curiosity and connection.
